Bau Wow: BAUHAUS!

On view through April 10, 2025

The Bauhaus movement was one of the most influential modernist movements of the 20th century. This movement merged art with industrial design, influenced by the arts and crafts trends. The Staatliches Bauhaus, known as the Bauhaus, was a German art school (1919-1933) that combined crafts with the fine arts. Artists such as Gunta Stölzl, Wassily Kandinsky, Laszlo Moholy-Nagy, Paul Klee, Johannes Itten, Josef and Anni Albers all sought to place crafts on par with fine arts, sculpture, and painting. For this exhibition, students were encouraged to research and explore Bauhaus's geometry and linear qualities to create their works.
